Last March, many of us went to work one day and then never returned. We were told to work remotely for the time being, until it was safe to return. So we did. We downloaded fun Zoom backgrounds and crafted makeshift desks to help us pass through what we thought would only be a temporary arrangement. Now 13 months later, 90% percent of Manhattan office workers are still working remotely, says a recent survey of major employers by the Partnership for New York City. And while increased vaccinations mean reopening might happen soon, it’s likely that, at least in some capacity, WFH is here to stay.

If you’ve held out this entire time without treating yourself to a proper and fun WFH space, or your current office digs are feeling a little stale, you’re in luck. In between building the 2021 Smart Home and filming her new series $50K Three Ways, HGTV’s Tiffany Brooks teamed up with Staples Connect to help bring some life to our home working spaces. “Everybody’s been at home with these lackluster home offices, so it was a perfect opportunity to team up with them,” she tells House Beautiful.

Brooks worked with Staples Connect on two projects. First off, you can enter the Remote Office Redo sweepstakes, where one grand prize winner will receive a complete office makeover valued at up to $10,000, as well as a 1:1 virtual design consultation with Brooks herself. An additional 20 lucky winners will receive $1,000 to Staples stores to make over their home office space. To enter, all you have to do is post a picture on either Instagram or Twitter showing your current home office that is in need of an upgrade and tag @StaplesStores, as well as include the hashtags #RemoteOfficeRedo and #Sweepstakes for a chance to win. That’s it! Full details can be found here.

In addition to the sweepstakes; Brooks also curated three fun office styles using Staples products to help inspire those looking to refresh their workspaces.

For those who like to kind things simple, the Modern Minimalist style is your go-to. As Brooks tells us “this is where you have your typical neutrals and your black and whites. Everything is minimal and everything on your desk has a definite function to it.”

Products found in the below photo include: Union & Scale Cream MidMod Fabric Manager Chair ($199), the Martha Stewart MS103L Gold 2-Compartment Metal File Sorter ($7.99), the Rumi Lighting ERP11ST 17.67″ Glossy Black LED Desk Lamp ($36.99), and the Martha Stewart 2-Compartment MDF Pencil Cup with Perpetual Calendar ($9.99).

If you’re looking to transform your space in a way that also benefits your wellbeing, the Wellness Warrior style might be your fix. “This look came from nature almost,” Brooks explains, adding “you’re rocking the wood tones.” To achieve this workspace aesthetic, you might consider adding a plant to your desk and a yoga mat nearby to take stretch breaks.

Finally, there’s the Creative Spirit. “This one is all about having color at your desk. Your desk is not necessarily a party place, but it a definite reflection of your personality,” Brooks notes. Here you might add a sketchbook and some fun art pieces in your space.

As for what’s on Brooks’s own desk, she says she takes after the Modern Minimalist style, but with a minor caveat: “I have a maximalist type of vibe,” she jokes. The designer explains that she uses two screens to work and always has a photo of her son and some type of plant at her desk. “I also have to be surrounded by books. That’s what the maximalist thing in me is — I collect books,” she shares. “I love great design books about art and photography. All of that needs to surround me when when I’m working.”
