ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – Austin Straubel Global Airport (GRB) in the Village of Ashwaubenon will be obtaining a makeover.
Through a push conference now, Brown County Government Troy Streckenbach painted the ceremonial “first paint stroke” on the exterior of the airport that will be going through a refresh and advancement venture.
“It’s time to brighten items up and give our airport a much more contemporary glimpse,” said Streckenbach. “So, we wanted to have a very little pleasurable with it whilst sharing the news.”
The $8.2M project, funded as a result of a blend of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Advancement (AIP) grant cash and Wisconsin Bureau of Aeronautics (WiBOA) Condition-aid grants, is envisioned to be concluded in four phases over the future year. Immel Design of Green Bay is the general contractor.
The update and advancement challenge is set to rework and repaint the exterior cover with LED lights and additional safety functions. Alongside the exterior cover, the entrance and exit plazas, as very well as traveler walkways, will be up to date and painted.

The outdated aqua coloration and accents on the exterior of the airport will also be changed with a far more modern day grey paint colour adopted by a blue accent.
