Tornado damage reported in Kansas, roofs ripped from buildings

A reported tornado left damage behind in downtown Marysville, Kansas, near the Nebraska border Saturday night. The National Weather Service will be conducting a damage survey after officials said they believe a tornado hit downtown Marysville, ripping roofs from buildings and leaving debris scattered across town. Sister station KMBC 9 received viewer video from Plattsburg, Mo., showing lots of lightning as a severe storm moved through overnight. Storms packed up to 60 mph winds, and the National Weather Service received reports of large hail in some places. While tornado warnings were issued overnight in area counties like Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties, things were much worse in areas like north-central and eastern Kansas.
